Attorney Valerie Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT; ethical elf

The state of Connecticut provided Valerie C. Ferrucci with a law license in 1999.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Valerie guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Consulted with clients that were represented by counsel
Valerie represented her husband Michael in regard to the proposed sale of a health club. Michael advised attorney Jo E. Friday that he was selling a health club to one of his employees, Wade Bercher, and asked if he was available to represent Mr. Bercher. Subsequently, Mr. Friday agreed to represent Mr. Bercher and his fiancée, Rebecca Ziegler regarding the sale.

While Mr. Bercher was on vacation, Valerie, without Bercher’s prior knowledge or consent, formed a limited liability company for his clients’, Mr. Bercher and Ms. Ziegler, and acknowledged their signatures on a commercial lease. Valerie failed to consult with Mr. Bercher and Ms. Ziegler concerning the dual representation or obtain their consent after consultation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Valerie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Valerie practices at 813 Main Street South in Woodbury, Connecticut.
