Attorney Richard Silverstein of New Haven, CT; repeat offender

 
The state of Connecticut provided Richard P. Silverstein with a law license in 1986.
 
The Statewide Grievance Committee found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Richard by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.
 
Richard’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
Richard was hired to represent a client who was arrested on larceny charges. Richard knowingly violated the rules by failing to provide the client with a written fee agreement outlining the amount of the fee to be charged, and the scope of his representation of the client.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
 
Richard’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
Richard was hired by the client’s mother in connection with criminal proceedings. Again, Richard knowingly violated the rules when he failed to provide the client with a written fee agreement disclosing the rate and basis for his fee, and to what extent the client would be liable for any court costs and expenses.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Richard by gifting him with another (2nd) complimentary reprimand.
 
Richard’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
Mrs. Sharif met with Richard to discuss his representation of her husband in a criminal matter. Mr. Sharif was previously represented by a public defender and a sentencing hearing was pending.
 
Richard verbally quoted a fee of $1,000 and an additional fee of $500 for a modification of the sentence. Again, Richard failed to provide the client with a written fee agreement.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Richard by gifting him with another (3rd) complimentary reprimand.
 
As we speak (ca. January 2013) Richard practices with the Law Offices of Richard P. Silverstein at 50 Elm Street in New Haven, Connecticut.
