Attorney Steven McFarlane of Louisburg, NC; tax scofflaw

The state of North Carolina presented Steven H. McFarlane with a law license in 1989.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Steven with the following misconduct.

Over a period of four (4) years, Steven found it acceptable to knowingly and willfully violate state and federal law when he failed to file federal and state income tax returns. Steven also willfully failed to timely pay taxes he owed to the State of North Carolina and the Federal government for at least four consecutive years.

As a consequence of his misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Steven by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Steven.

As we speak (ca. January 2013) Steven practices with the McFarlane Law Office PA in Louisburg, North Carolina.
