Attorney Bird Old III of Mt. Pleasant, TX; unethical loser
The state of Texas presented Bird Old III with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from South Texas Law School.
An evidentiary panel of the District 1-B Grievance Committee found Bird guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Bird represented a client in a divorce matter. The final divorce decree awarded Bird’s client a percentage of her ex-husband’s retirement benefits, which was to be defined in the Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO).Bird engaged in grossly negligent conduct when he failed to prepare the required QDRO.
The client (victim) contacted Bird’s office and requesting that the proper documents (QDRO) be prepared and sent to her former husband’s attorney. Bird refused to prepare the required QDRO as his client requested.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Bird’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
As a consequence of her misconduct the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Bird by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. January 2013) Bird continues to practice in the Mt. Pleasant, Texas area.
