Attorney Saman Taherian of San Jose; convicted felon
The state of California provided Benjamin Irwin Schiff with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from California Western Law School in San Diego.
The California State Bar Court found Jonathan guilty of the following misconduct.
Saman participated in presenting false claims for two clients who were undercover agents from the California Department of Insurance who were investigating fraud by Dr. Hatam. Saman agreed to represent the undercover agents and attempted to settle personal injury claims on their behalf despite the fact he absolutely knew the claims were fraudulent.
Shortly thereafter, Saman was arrested. The day before Saman was arrested; he tried to pay Dr. Hatam an illegal referral fee. Shortly after his arrest, Saman deleted from his records all evidence of the illegal referral fee he tried to pay to Dr. Hatam.
Subsequently, Saman pleaded no contest (guilty) to a felony violation of conspiring to present false claims for insurance benefits. Saman was sentenced to 60-days in the county jail and placed on three years of probation.
