Attorney William Middleton of Salt Lake City; ethically deprived

The state of Utah presented William J. Middleton with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School

The chair of the Ethics and Discipline Committee found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

Billy was hired to represent a client regarding a civil lawsuit. After foreclosure proceedings were initiated against the client, Billy advised the client to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Billy then prepared the Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition. However, William filed the bankruptcy incorrectly because he failed to include the fact that there was a pending lawsuit and counterclaim regarding his client.

Several months later, Billy was forced to withdraw from representing the client in the civil litigation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (December 2012) Billy practices with the Office of Guardian Ad Litem and CASA at 450 South State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah.
