Attorney Philip Valentino, Jr. of Bensalem, PA; convicted felon

The state of Pennsylvania presented Philip A. Valentino, Jr. with a law license in 1968.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Philip guilty of the following misconduct.

In regards to several instances, Philip submitted fraudulent medical records in arbitration matters that he absolutely knew were false. The sham medical records showed treatment on dates when no treatment had taken place. Philip then settled the cases with the insurance carriers who made settlement payments to Philip.

In three client matters, the clients had no sought immediate medical treatment and the fraudulent medical records were intended to make it appear that treatment had been sought promptly after the accident.

The fourth matter involved Philip’s mother who was the plaintiff in a personal injury slip and fall case. Mrs. Valentino’s medical bills were fraudulent submitted by her son Philip.

A fifth matter, involved a personal injury action by Philip’s wife where she received a settlement check in the amount of $3,000 based on Philip’s fraudulent conduct.

Later on, Philip’s mother was subpoenaed to testify about her medical care that was the subject of the fraudulent documents prepared by Philip. Philip, acting as his mother’s attorney, advised her to give false testimony to the grand jury, so she did so.

Subsequently, Philip leaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and was sentenced to three years of probation, with the first 12 months on home confinement, and was ordered to pay restitution of $21,800 and a fine of $5,000.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Philip by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2012) Philip practices with Valentino & Slowinski PC at 3143 Knights Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, which is about 15 miles northeast of downtown Philadelphia.

It must be comforting to the folks in Philadelphia to know that there is yet another convicted felon practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
