The State of Michigan provided Robert Scott Vanderford with a law license in 1971.
 
The Attorney Disciplinary Board found James guilty of the following misconduct.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
 
As we speak (ca. December 2012) Robert practices with R. Scott Vanderford PC at 25742 Schoolcraft Road in Redford, Michigan, which is a suburb of Detroit.
 
Robert’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
In one matter Robert was hired to defend a client in a divorce action, but failed to timely file an answer of his client’s behalf, and failed to respond to the inquiries of his client or his client’s substitute attorney.
 
In another divorce action, Robert failed to appear for an appointment with his client, failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing. Robert prepared a property settlement agreement that included a provision that was contrary to the agreement reached by the parties, and made a false statement in the divorce judgment he submitted to the court. Robert also refused to refund his client’s retainer fee.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
 
Robert’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
Robert was hired to represent a client regarding a child custody and support matter. Robert failed to appear for a court scheduled hearing. Robert also failed to advise his client to appear for a Friend of the Court interview.
 
In addition, Robert failed to enter the judgment of divorce, failed to advise his client of the judgment for costs and attorney fees.
 
Lastly, Robert failed to respond to numerous inquires from his client as to the status of the divorce proceedings.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. December 2012) Robert practices at 25742 Schoolcraft in Redford, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit.
