Judge Conrad Singer of New York; misogynist, moron, Il Duce Wannabee
Unfortunately, Judge Conrad Singer sits on the Family Court in Nassau County, NY.
FYI: Il Duce was the nickname for Benito Mussolini.
On Jan. 1, 2007 Judge Conrad Singer presided over a child custody matter that also involved allegations of domestic violence regarding Tracy and Robert Schmidlin.
During the court proceedings, Judge Conrad Singer ordered Ms. Schmidlin to disclose the address of the shelter where she was then living.
Ms. Schmidlin’s attorney, Nancy Mullen-Garcia advised Judge Conrad Singer that “My client cannot disclose the address of the shelter.” Judge Conrad Singer (aka, The Misogynist) stated that if Ms. Schmidlin failed to provide the address, Judge Conrad Singer would hold her in contempt.
When Ms. Mullen-Garcia again refused to reveal her client’s address, Judge Conrad Singer ordered her to bring her supervising attorney, Lois Schwaeber, to court by 11:00 am that morning.
When Ms. Schwaeber appeared at court, Judge Conrad Singer threatened to hold Ms. Mullen-Garcia in contempt if she refused and persisted in refusing to disclose the location of the shelter where her client then resided.
Supervising attorney Schwaeber also refused to provide the location of the client’s shelter by stating:
“We are by statutory law, New York State statutory law, the federal statutory law, several of them, prohibited from revealing the address of our shelter.”
Despite having been placed on notice that the attorney’s refusal was grounded in the law [Family Court Act §154-b(2)(b)], Judge Conrad Singer persisted in unlawfully demanding the disclosure of Ms. Schmidlin’s address. In fact, Judge Conrad Singer became incensed that anyone would have the audacity to challenge his imperial authority. As a result, Judge Conrad Singer showed his true misogynistic colors and Il Duce attitude in ranting and raving at the attorneys.
When Ms. Mullen-Garcia continued to refuse to reveal her client’s address in open court, Judge Conrad Singer illegally held her in contempt and fined her $1,000.
How in the hell did this moron ever obtain a judgeship on the Family Court? Here we have a certified idiot sitting on the bench that doesn’t even know the Family Court law that prohibits the release of an abused spouse’s address. What a loser!
Punishment meted out to Judge Conrad Singer
The enablers and apologists sitting on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct performed as the normally do. They punished Judge Conrad Singer by presenting him with a “complimentary” admonition. In so acting, they have proved that judges are in fact “held to a lower standard of conduct” than we are.
