Attorney Patricia Ayars of Glastonbury, CT; ethical dwarf

The state of Connecticut provided Patricia A. Ayars with a law license in 1983.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Patricia guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter
  • Failed to respond to client’s request for client files
In one matter, Patricia was hired as a managing agent for White & Katzman, a property management company employed by the Ivybrook Village Condominium Assn. Subsequently, the Association referred several condominium charge foreclosure actions to Patricia.

The client made several written inquires about the status of the foreclosure matter to Patricia; however, she failed to respond to any of them. Subsequently, the Association fired Patricia and demanded she forwarded their files to the new attorney they hired. Patricia refused to return the files and improperly held them in order to coerce payment of her claimed fees. Put simply, Patricia found it acceptable to engage in a form of extortion over her fee demands.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Myles by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Patricia practices with Ayars & Associates at 131 Oak Street in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
