Attorney Sally Steuk of Columbus, OH; apologist for Attorney Misfits

The state of Ohio provided Sally Ann Steuk with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from Southwestern University of Law School.

Unable to secure a decent paying job offer from any self-respecting law firm in the greater Columbus area, Sally ended up obtaining a job as a so-called assistant Disciplinary Counsel for the Ohio Supreme Court.

Sally’s alleged job was to investigate and prosecute dishonest and/or incompetent attorneys. Moreover, she was duty bound to take appropriate actions against Attorney Misfits for the protection of the public.

Rather than prosecute dishonest attorneys, Sally has consistently gone out of her way to issue rulings wherein she found that the following conduct was acceptable for Ohio attorneys.
  1. Charging clients thousand of dollars for hours never worked
  2. Charging clients for legal costs the attorney never incurred.
  3. Suborning perjured trial testimony
  4. Repeatedly testifying falsely
  5. Billing clients for time spent in Ohio office when attorney was actually in San Francisco
  6. Billing two clients for traveling to the courthouse at the same time on the same date
  7. Charging client 1.0 hours ($500) to read a one-sentence court order changing date of hearing
  8. Collecting several thousand dollars in fees for time spent responding to grievances submitted to Sally
  9. Sally found it reasonable that attorney spent 68.5 hours and was entitled to $14,000 in fees for preparing a generic 2 page answer to a lawsuit
  10. Found it believable that an attorney spent 10 hours for fees of $1,900 for driving 130 miles from Toledo to Akron
It is painfully clear that as long as Sally and those of her ilk are employed to investigate attorney misconduct in Ohio, Ohio will continue to rank last among all states in disciplining Attorney Misfits.

As we speak (ca. December 2012) Sally is employed as an Assistant Attorney General at 30 East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio.
