Attorney William Bonilla of Corpus Christi, ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented William D. Bonilla with a law license in 1953 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

A panel of the District 10 Grievance Committee found William guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  2. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  3. Failed to communicate with client
  4. Failed to provide written explanation of recover to client re: contingent fee
  5. Failed to return client file to client after being fired
  6. Failed to properly supervise non-attorney office staff

Failed to make effort to correct unrepresented person’s misunderstanding of his role in legal matter

As a consequence of his misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished William by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the committee didn’t actually mete out any significant punishment to John.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) William practices at 2727 Morgan Avenue in Corpus Christi, Texas.
