Attorney Robert Berk of Cleveland; moronic loser

The state of Ohio provided Robert Jerome Berk with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.

Robert was hired by Winston and Rachel Lewis regarding damages they incurred from an auto accident. When the trial court scheduled a case-management hearing, Robert failed to appear. The trial judge continued the matter but stated in its order that the Lewis’ lawsuit would be dismissed if Robert didn’t appear at the second scheduled conference. Despite the trial judge’s specific attendance order, Robert failed to appear, and the Lewis’ lawsuit was dismissed.

In another matter, Robert represented Kenneth Render in an auto accident case. Robert filed suit against the other driver on his client’s behalf. The trial court then scheduled a case-management conference, but as usual Robert didn’t appear. The trial judge then scheduled a settlement conference and warned Robert that his failure to appear might result in the dismissal of the Render lawsuit. After Robert again failed to appear at the settlement conference, the trial judge dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning Render was prohibited form ever re-filing his lawsuit.

As one would expect, this wasn’t Roberts 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined for engaging in a pattern of misconduct involving multiple offenses. Two instances involved show-cause orders for contempt issued against Robert for his failure to attend scheduled bankruptcy hearings.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Robert by gifting him with a stayed 18-month suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court didn’t punish Robert in any meaningful way.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Robert the Loser practices with Robert J. Berk Co. LPA at 75 Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio.
