Attorney Angela Barseghian of Beverly Hills, CA; ethically indigent

The state of California provided Angela Barseghian with a law license in 1989 after she graduated from Western State Law School.

The California Bar Court found Angela guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Exhibited indifference to the gravity of her misconduct
  2. Withdrew from client cases w/o taking steps to protect their interests
  3. Failed to comply with court-ordered sanction
  4. Failed to report court sanctions to the state Bar
  5. Engaged in negligent conduct involving client matters
In one matter, Angela filed to honor a client’s medical liens from funds collected on her client’s behalf, despite numerous attempts by the medical provider to collect the funds. Eventually the doctor was successful in obtaining a court judgment against Angela, which he used to collect what he was owed.

In another matter, a client’s case was dismissed by the trial court because Angela did not comply with a court order.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California Bar Court punished Angela by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 60-day suspension of her law license. In reality, the comedians sitting on the Bar Court didn’t actually mete out any significant punishment to Angela.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Angela practices with the Law Offices of Angela Barseghian at 1118 El Retiro Way in Beverly Hills, California.
