Attorney Patrick R. Russell of Brookfield, WI; serial thief
The state of Wisconsin presented Patrick R. Russell with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Marquette University Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Patrick guilty of the following misconduct.
Patrick’s misconduct involved eight separate occasions wherein he engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation.
At the time of his misconduct, Patrick was employed as an attorney and treasurer for a local law firm in the Brookfield area. During his employ, Patrick found it acceptable to take money on at least eight (8) occasions from the firm that he was not lawfully entitled too.
In one instance, Patrick obtained $1,687 from the firm which he claimed as an office expense, when he in fact used the funds to purchase computer equipment for his home. He also obtained money from the firm that was used to purchase a computer for a relative.
On other occasions Patrick bilked the law firm as follows:
As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme
Court punished Patrick by gifting him with a 18-month complimentary suspension of his law license.
Because Attorney Misfits in Wisconsin are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Patrick was never criminally charged for embezzlement or theft.
As we speak (ca. October 2012) Patrick practices in the Brookfield, Wisconsin area.
