Victim No. 1

Geoffrey represented Dave Fox Remodeling and accepted a $450 retainer fee. When Geoffrey failed to complete the work and respond to repeated inquiries he was fired; however, he refused to return the $450 fee he never earned. It wasn’t until almost two-years later that Geoffrey refunded the $450 and that happened after the victim filed an ethics complaint against him.

Victim No. 2

Geoffrey was named executor of an estate and trustee for a trust established by Stephen Haban for t he benefit of several family members. Geoffrey repeatedly failed to provide annual accountings of the trust. He also failed to timely file annual tax returns for the trust, which caused the trust to pay more than $16,000 in penalties and interest to the IRS.

Victim No. 3

Geoffrey represented Terry Holtrey in divorce proceedings. Holtrey paid Geoffrey over $6,000 in fees. Over a period of at least two years, Geoffrey failed to file documents necessary to secure child support for Terry, and said failure resulted in the loss of 12 months of child-support payments that Terry would have been entitled too.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Geoffrey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed180-day suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court didn’t mete out any real punishment to Geoffrey.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Geoffrey practices with Geoffrey E. Albrecht LPA at 673 Mohawk Street in Columbus, Ohio.
