Texas law prohibits the use of campaign funds for personal use. In addition, the law requires that any campaign expenditures must specifically relate to a legitimate campaign purpose and/or official government business.
Under Texas law any public official who misuses campaign funds for personal use and/or for a use having nothing to do with a recognized campaign activities and/or one’s public duties is guilt of a Class A criminal misdemeanor.
As you’ll see below, Judge Kathleen Hamilton is not particularly concerned with comporting her conduct in a lawful manner in expending campaign funds. I suppose that since Judge Kathleen Hamilton is a moron, she’ll claim “ignorance of the law” in regards to illegal expenditure of campaign funds.
Judge Kathleen Hamilton is the quintessential Party Girl, especially when someone else is picking up the tab (her unwitting contributors).
Judge Kathleen Hamilton – Halloween Parties
Apparently Judge Kathleen Hamilton is infatuated with Halloween. One could reasonably say she is to Halloween what young girls are to “Girls Gone Wild.” From 2005 to 2008, Judge Kathleen Hamilton spent $1,682.78 in campaign funds to host Halloween parties.
It would appear the Halloween parties were held at the courthouse in Conroe, Texas. If this be the case, then Judge Kathleen Hamilton found it acceptable for taxpayers in Montgomery County to foot the bill for wages paid to court employees while they were preparing for and attending Halloween parties at the courthouse.
In addition, Judge Kathleen Hamilton also used campaign funds to pay for expenses associated with purchasing supplies, etc. for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, and the 4th of July.
