Attorney Mark Evetts of The Woodlands, TX; ethical leper-con

State of Texas presented Mark Alan Evetts with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The District 16-2 Grievance Committee found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Mark failed to respond to grievance (Up Yours, said Mark!)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
Mark was hired to represent a client in a civil lawsuit. At that time, the client paid Mark $100,000 for his representation. Subsequently, Mark failed to respond to requests for admission from the opposing party’s attorney and, as a result of his gross negligence; summary judgment was entered against his client. Put simply, the trial court dismissed his client’s lawsuit because of Mark the Moron’s conduct.

The grievance committee ordered Mark to make restitution of $94,000 to his victim, which means the committee found that he was only entitled to $6,000 in attorney fees. What a monumental loser!

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Mark by gifting him with a 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Mark practices with the Evetts Law Firm PC at 594 Sawdust Road in The Woodlands, Texas
