Attorney Blaine Goins of Orange, TX; loser, thief

 

State of Texas presented Blaine M. Goins with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Houston Law School.
 
The District 3-A Grievance Committee found Blaine guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  2. Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of legal matter
  3. Failed to respond to client’s reasonable requests for information
  4. Failed to explain matter necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding representation
  5. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonest, deceit or misrepresentation
  6. Failed to give client notice of termination of representation (abandonment)
  7. Failed to refund unearned advance fees (crook)
  8. Falsely implied he could improperly influence government official (liar)
  9. Failed to respond to grievance committee inquires (Up Yours, said Blaine!)
As a consequence of his misconduct the for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Blaine by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.
 
The grievance committee ordered Blaine to make restitution of $6,500 to the client he ripped off by refusing to return an advance fee that he never earned. 
 
As we speak (ca. October 2012) Blaine practices at 202 Border Street in Orange, Texas, which is about 100 miles east of Houston.
