Attorney Mary Sawers of Toledo; unethical Dumbo
The state of Ohio presented Mary Lou Sawers with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from Toledo University Law School.
Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Mary guilty of the following misconduct.
Mary’s misconduct came about while she was employed by Willard Johnson & Associates. While attending a seminar on Elder Law Planning Strategies, Mary met John and Nancy Mayer. Subsequently, the Mayers’ hired Mary to prepare a revocable and irrevocable trust for them. They then paid Mary $9,800.
Mary merely prepared generic trust documents, making absolutely no effort to adapt the documents to the individualized legal needs of her clients (victims). Subsequently, Mary admitted that she was not qualified to provide the services the Mayers’ hired her for. Put simply, she admitted she was a Dumbo!
As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Mary by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Mary practices with the Law Offices of Mary L. Sawyers at 2329 Parkwood in Toledo, Ohio.
