Judge Salvador Zarate of La Grulla, TX; serial drunk

The Texas Judicial Commission found Rickey guilty of the following misconduct while he sat as a Justice of the Peace in La Grulla, Texas.

Salvador has been arrested at least three (3) times for driving under the influence (DUI).

On one occasion Sal the Drunk was returning home from a birthday party when he was stopped by State Trooper Aaron De La Garza and charged with driving while intoxicated.

On another occasion, Sal was stopped by State Trooper David Herrera and charged with drunk driving; he let the trooper know he was a sitting Justice of the Peace. Sal the Drunk then asked Herrera “Can you give me a break?”

While testifying before the Judicial Commission, Salvador admitted that he’s never participated in any alcohol treatment program.

An unreliable source indicated that Sal is considering attending a seminar for certified drunks sponsored by the Jack Daniel’s Sobriety Institute.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Salvador by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2012), the Dishonorable Salvador Zarate continues to sit as a Justice of the Peace in La Grulla, Texas, which is about 90 miles west of Brownsville.
