Attorney Thomas Militano of Andover, NJ: lying loser

The state of New Jersey presented Thomas F. Militano with a law license in 1991.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Howard guilty of the following misconduct.

When a former client involved in a couple of traffic offenses sought to obtain free legal representation from the public defender’s office, Thomas found it acceptable to lie to the court that the ex-client had in fact paid the required $50 deposit for obtaining representation from a public defender.

Because Attorney Misfits are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else in New Jersey, the local prosecutor refused to file criminal charges against Thomas for obstruction of justice. I’m sure the DA would have had a different opinion if the liar wasn’t a fellow attorney.

In another matter, a client (victim) paid Tommy to appeal a misdemeanor conviction for possession of marijuana. However, Tommy never filed the appeal. He then told the client that he would file a motion for permission to file a late appeal; however, he never filed the motion. He then lied to the ethics investigators about the matter.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Clifford by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2012) Thomas at 157 Main Street in Andover, New Jersey.
