Judge Paul M. Hensley of Central Islip, NY; ethical dwarf

The State of New York provided Paul with a law license in 1987

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Paul guilty of the following misconduct.

Under New York law it is illegal for anyone to attend gambling events or to participate as a player.

Paul repeatedly attended and participated in Texas Hold-em poker games at a Fraternal Order of Eagles club located in Northport, New York. Paul participated in these poker games even though he absolutely knew that they were illegal under New York State criminal laws.

Paul was present when the local police conducted a raid of the Eagles Club. When interviewed by the police he let it be known to them that he was a sitting judge. He also made several misleading comments to the police in an effort to portray himself as being ignorant of the illegal gambling activity taking place.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Paul by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2012) Paul remains sitting as a District Court Judge in Central Islip.
