Attorney Michael McCarrin of Media, PA; convicted felon

The state of Pennsylvania presented Michael W. McCarrin with a law license in 1978.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Michael guilty of the following misconduct.

Michael was indicted by federal prosecutors for the following crimes:
  1. Mail fraud
  2. Money laundering
  3. Interstate travel in aid of racketeering
  4. Engaging in monetary transactions involving property obtained from unlawful activity
After a jury trial, Michael was convicted of nine (9) counts of mail fraud and two (2) counts of Engaging in monetary transactions involving property obtained from unlawful activity. He was subsequently sentenced to two years in prison and two years of supervised parole.

The criminal activity Mike was involved in dealt with a scam involving a car dealer he represented. Mike setup a company to perform customer satisfaction surveys on behalf of the car dealer. However, the bulk of the money Mike’s company received was unlawfully distributed to himself and the owner of the dealership.

Mike’s take while running the scam was $212,735. Mike used these ill-gotten funds to pay personal expenses including, private school tuition for his children, life insurance premiums, furniture for his home, a cruise through the rivers in France, personal credit card expenses, mortgage payments for his brother-in-law, federal income tax payments for him and his wife, and for starting an automobile liquidating business he controlled along with family members.

The disciplinary panel also found that Mike’s testimony on many issues wasn’t credible (lied).

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Michael by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license. Subsequently the buffoons on the Court voted to reinstate Mike the Convicts law license.

Mike is yet another convicted felon that has been allowed to practice law in Pennsylvania compliments of the comedians sitting on the Surpeme Court.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Michael practices at 2235 North Providence Road in Media, Pennsylvania.

Caution: Michael does not carry legal malpractice insurance
