Attorney Paula Scharff of Jeffersonville, PA; liar, Dufus

The state of Pennsylvania presented Paula C. Scharff with a law license in 1992.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Paula guilty of misconduct on at least two occasions
  1. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  2. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on her fitness to practice law
  3. Lied in response to disciplinary counsel
  4. Disciplinary Counsel found Paula’s hearing testimony to not be believable (false)
Paula’s conduct involved Jose Rodriguez, a prisoner at the Lehigh Prison who she met when he was a 15-year-old resident of a juvenile detention facility where she worked as a receptionist. During the numerous times he was imprisoned; Paula would talk to him on the phone, write him letters and personally visit with him.

During a seven-week period while Jose was incarcerated at the Lehigh County Prison, he made 72 collect calls to Paula, all of which she accepted and they spoke for over 14 hours.

Subsequently, Paula went to the Lehigh Prison to visit with Jose. Upon arrival she lied to Prison personnel that she was Jose’s attorney and was there to discuss legal matters with him. The prison guard escorted Paula to a visiting room where she met with Jose. However, after more than two hours had passed the guard became suspicious and went to look through the window of the room. When he did, he discovered the following:

Paula and Jose were standing in the corner of the room
Paula’s shirt was pushed up to reveal her breasts and her skirt was up near her waist to reveal her upper thighs
Jose’s pants were dropped around his ankles to reveal his buttocks, thighs and part of his legs
Paula had her arms around Jose and they were kissing and hugging
Jose was pumping up against Paula

The guard concluded that it was obvious that Paula and Jose were having intercourse. In layman’s terms, Paula was screwing her client.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Paula by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Pennsylvania are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Paula was never criminally charged for perjury despite findings by the Supreme Court that she gave false testimony to a material fact.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Paula practices with Thiele & Koerth LLC at 101 Flannery Drive in Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania.
