Attorney Michael Sedor of Harrisburg, PA; convicted felon

The state of Pennsylvania provided Michael Sedor with a law license in 1970. .

The Disciplinary Board found Michael guilty of the following misconduct.

Michael was involved with several other crooks that conspired to defraud the federal government in regards to mortgages backed by FHA and/or HUD. Michael was the owner of Penn State Abstract Agency that acted as the primary settlement agent regarding sales of homes in Barwood Estates.

FHA eligibility requirements required buyer’s to contribute a minimum 3% cash investment, which could not be paid by the seller. As proof of compliance with the 3% requirement, the buyer, seller and settlement agent (Michael) had to sign a HUD-1 settlement statement that the buyer did not receive any undisclosed payments from any source, and that the settlement agent (Michael) had no knowledge of any funds paid or received out side of closing as part of the transaction.

The plan to defraud HUD had the builder providing advance checks paid directly to Michael which, through the use of false gift checks and false letters, was made to appear to come from relatives of the buyers rather than the builder/seller. As part of the scheme, Michael signed HUD-1 forms falsely stating that the funds came from buyers.

Subsequently, Michael was found guilty of one felony count of conspiracy to defraud HUD and was sentenced to 7-months in prison, 7-months home confinement, 2-years of supervised release and a $5,000 fine.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Michael by gifting him with a complimentary 24-month suspension of his law license.

Isn’t it nice to know there is yet another convicted felon practice law in Pennsylvania compliments of the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court?

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Michael practices at 3801 Talbott Lane in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
