Attorney Richard Jones of Ocean Shores, WA; repeat offender

The state of Washington provided Richard Llewelyn Jones with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Dick’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to maintain adequate records regarding client funds coming into his possession
• Auditor found that the manual check register for the Wells Fargo account was missing some transactions
• deposit books were not reconciled to monthly bank statements or client ledgers
• no client accounts were maintained in the QuickBooks records
• The Timeslips system was not reconciled to either the manual check register or the QuickBooks register
• Failed to maintain client funds in a trust account

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington

State Supreme Court punished Russ by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Dick’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Knowingly violated a court order (Up yours, said Dick!)
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly collected payments from two clients without the bankruptcy court’s knowledge or authority
• Filed a declaration in the Chelan County case which mischaracterized the events at the deposition
• Filed bankruptcy while simultaneously being a creditor and collecting pre-petition debt from client
• Concurrently representing client bankruptcy estate while being a creditor in client’s bankruptcy
• Represented client B and client B’s non-debtor wife in a land use lawsuit
• Brought a rescission motion in a trust matter that had no basis in law or fact that was not frivolous
• Filed a declaration in the Chelan County case which mischaracterized the events at the deposition

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington

State Supreme Court punished Russ by gifting him with a complimentary 21-month suspension of his law license.  

As we speak (ca. June 2026), Russ practices his so-called brand of law in Ocean Shores, Washington.
