Attorney Augustine Batara of Hemet, CA; moronic slacker

The state of California provided Augustine Carlos Batara with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Harvard University School of Law.

The State Bar Court found Augie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to deposit client funds in designated trust account
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Lied to client about receipt of Application for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver
  • Engaged in gross negligence
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Augie!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Augie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $4,517.00.

As we speak (ca. October 2025), Augie practices his so-called brand of law at 211 North State Street in Hemet, California.
