Attorney Charles Dyer of Phoenix, AZ; ethical elf

The state of Arizona presented Charles M. Dyer with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from California Western University of Notre Dame School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Charlie was responsible for administering his firm’s IOLTA account
  • The IOLTA account fell out of compliance when the firm expanded
  • Commingled client funds with firm’s funds
  • Due to disbursement errors and misappropriations, several client accounts had negative balances
  • Earned fees were erroneously accounted for as IOLTA administrative funds when they should have been deposited in the firm’s operating account
  • Failed to properly supervise his office staff

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed $1,200.00 in investigative costs.

As we speak (ca. October 2025), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law with Dyer Bregman Ferris Wong & Carter PLLC at 3003 North Central Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
