Attorney Matthew Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; ethical elf

The state of Alabama presented Matthew Jones with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from the Faulkner University School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Matty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Failed to communicate with a client
• Failed to decline/terminate representation when required to do so
• Engaged in conduct that adversely reflected on Matty’s fitness to practice law
• Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other respects

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Matty fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.newsomela.com.  Apparently, he decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2025), Matty practices his so-called brand of law with Jones Law & Associates PC in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
