Attorney Christopher Engebretson of Boston, MA; ethical dwarf

The state of Massachusetts presented Christopher David Engebretson with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Negligently billed for time he did not actually work, and accepted payment for it
• Charged and collected a clearly excessive fee
• Failed to disclose to the agency that his bills were not based on actual contemporaneous time records that were required
• Failed to maintain accurate contemporaneous time records
• Weekly time reports were replete with errors, including misidentifying the days that he worked
• Negligently overestimated his total online hours, resulting in overbillings to the client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary with a reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2024), Chris practices his so-called brand of law with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt at 125 High Street in Boston, Massachusetts.
