Judge John Lee Kearney of Pine Bluff, AR; Dufus
Before duping the voters in the Pine Bluff area into electing him as a District Court Judge, John practiced law in the area. Prior to become a judge, the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct found John guilty of the following misconduct.
John’s misconduct arose from his negligent representation of a client (victim) in a case before the Arkansas Supreme Court. The client was found guilty by a jury of delivery of a controlled substance and sentenced to imprisonment for 120 months.
John had 30 days to file a notice of appeal of his client’s conviction; however, the Dufus failed to do so. He was then provided with an opportunity under Arkansas law to file a “belated appeal,: however, he was required to attach an affidavit from his client to support the filing, which he failed to do.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct punished John by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
Isn’t it nice to know that a Dufus like Johnny is able to now sit in judgment of others in Pine Bluff? What a joke!
As we speak (ca. July 2012) Johnny continues to sit as a District Court Judge in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
