Attorney Thomas Jones of Selma, AL; ethical elf

The state of Alabama and Tennessee presented Thomas Matthew Jones with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from Faulkner University School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to decline/terminate representation when required to so act
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness to practice law

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2024), Tommy practices his so-called brand of law with Pitts Williams & Jones in Selma, Alabama.
