Attorney Jeffrey Steinback of Roscoe, IL; ethical elf

The state of Illinois presented Jeffrey Bruce Steinback with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the John Marshall School of Law.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jeff guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• While representing a defendant in a federal criminal case in Iowa, Jeff allowed his legal assistant to file a motion seeking to continue a sentencing hearing based on false statements that he could not attend the hearing because he had been treated at an emergency room and had been advised not to travel for the next four to seven days
• Failed to correct the false statements of material fact made in the motion
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his las license. 

As we speak (ca. May 2024), Jeff practices his so-called brand of law Jeffrey B. Steinback, LLC at 8351 Snaresbrook Road in Roscoe, Illinois.
