Attorney Libero Marotta of Edgewater, NJ; convict 
The state of New Jersey presented Libero D. Marotta with a law license in 1955.
The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Martin guilty of the following misconduct.
Libero was found guilty in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey of one count of obstruction of justice. Libero was sentenced to a three-year term of probation and was confined to house arrest for six months and ordered to pay a $3,000 fine.
The thrust of Libero’s criminal conviction involved him offering legal advice to his clients to destroy evidence that was subpoenaed by the Feds in regards to mortgage fraud involving the Summit Bank.
This wasn’t Libero’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. In 1979, he received a complimentary reprimand from the New Jersey Supreme Court for (a) engaging in a conflict of interest, and (b) creating the appearance of impropriety when he represented an individual applying for a liquor license before the Union City Board of Commissioners, while he was employed as counsel fro the Board.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Libero by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. July 2012) Libero practices at 115 River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey.
