Attorney Youras Ziankovich of New York City; cheating slacker
The state of Colorado and New York provided Youras Ziankovich with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Fordham University of Iowa School of Law.
The Colorado State Bar found Youras guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Violated many Rules of Professional Conduct while representing a husband and wife in immigration proceedings before the federal court in Colorado
-
Failed to notify his clients of his previous suspension from the practice of law, which took effect during the representation
-
Rescheduled a second interview with USCIS multiple times, and on at least one occasion without the consent or knowledge of his clients
-
Failed to timely renew his client’s work authorization permit, letting it expire
-
Failed to return unearned funds upon termination
-
Charged unreasonable and nonrefundable fees (cheater)
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Failed to consult with his client about any relevant limitation on the lawyer’s conduct when he knew that the client expects assistance not permitted by the rules
-
Failed to explain a matter so as to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
-
Knowingly disobey an obligation under the rules of a tribunal (Up yours, said Youras!)
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Youras by gifting him with a complimentary 30-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. April 2024), Youras practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Youras Ziankovich in New York, New York.
