Attorney Lisa Wellman of Claremont, NH; rubber check afficianado

The state of New Hampshire provided Lisa A. Wellman (LAW) with a law license in 2002 after she graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. Lisa also obtained a license to practice in Vermont in 2003.

The New York Appellate Division, First Departmentfound Lisa guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Wrote two checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • The two rubber checks were issued to pay for court filing fees
  • Mishandled client funds in two client matter
  • Lisa was out of trust in the amount of $13,831.36 for one client and $5,790.19 for another client
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Lisa was dishonest regarding the amounts she held in trust for her clients with third parties who sought to intercede on these clients' behalf
  • Lisa could not write checks to her clients for funds due to them without first 'replenishing' her IOLTA [client trust account] with her personal funds

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Lisa by the First Department Appellate Division.

As we speak (ca. April 2024), Lisa practices her so-called brand of law with Wellman-Ally Law PLLC at 98 Charlestown Road in Claremont, New Hampshire.
