Attorney Reynaldo Vitorillo of the Philippines; ethical troll

The Phillipine Supreme Court provided Leonardo E. Jiz with a law license in 1967

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Reynaldo guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to adequately communicate with his Swedish client Tony Peter Partsch regarding the client’s desired purchase of beach front property located in Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro
  • Mr. Partsch tendered a check in the amount of P230,000.00 and P20,000.00 in cash to Reynaldo as partial payment for the subject property
  • Repeatedly offered various sham excuses to Mr. Partsch as to why he could not provide him with a title to the beach front property
  • Mr. Partsch sent Reynaldo a letter formally demanding the reimbursement of P250,000.00 plus one percent (1%) monthly interest
  • In his response to Mr. Partsch’s letter, Reynaldo stated that while he was vexed by Partsch letter and actions, they could proceed with the original sale transaction under the condition that Partsch pays in full the balance of P2,250,000.00 as they have initially stipulated
  • Reynaldo acted in bad faith as he knew that he could deliver the subject property to Mr. Partsch, cancelled the sale, and continues to refuse to return his down payment of P250,000.00
  • In ignoring the constitutional prohibition against alienation of private lands to foreigners and by continuously refusing to return the money he received from Mr. Partsch, Reynaldo was deemed to have seriously impaired his status as a member of the Bar
  • Engaged in willful and grossly dishonest misrepresentations (lies) and gross misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on Phillipine Supreme Court punished Reynaldo by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license effective January 4, 2022.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Reynaldo will be resuming his so-called practice of law in early 2025 in

Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
