Attorney Richard Huye III of Metairie, LA; ethical troll
The state of Louisiana presented Richard William Huye III with a law license in 2018 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Law.
The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was associated with Houston-based McClenny, Moseley & Associates (MMA).
-
Mishandled hundreds of Hurricane Ida property insurance claims
-
Dick and MMA’s mass filing of hurricane damage claims in Louisiana found that serious problems occurred with duplicate filings
-
Dick and MMA filed cases against insurance companies that had no business relationships with the plaintiffs
-
Dick and MMA filed cases on behalf of alleged clients who had already settled their claims with their insurers
-
Failed to properly document expenses for settlement approval
-
Billy and MMA engaged in
-
Dick and/or MMA also admitted settling nine cases in which they did not represent the plaintiffs
-
Dick and/or MMA improperly signed a settlement check
-
Dick and MMA admitted to 856 misrepresentations to Louisiana insurers that MMA was retained by the insureds/homeowners, when in fact MMA did not represent those insureds/homeowners relative to claims for payments and benefits under those insurance policies
-
Misrepresented that it had been retained by hurricane victims to several insurance companies in connection with Dick/MMA’s contractual arrangement with Apex Roofing and Restoration
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. March 2024), Dick practices his so-called brand of law at 3500 N. Hullen Street in Metairie, Louisiana.
