Attorney Allan Grimsley of Nags Head, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented Allan R. Grimsley with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Allan guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to deposit entrusted funds received by credit card directly into a trust account
• Failed to reconciled his trust account quarterly by comparing general ledger balance, adjust bank balance, and total of all client ledger balances
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Allan!)
• Advanced or over-disbursed funds from his trust account
• Failed to maintain copies of the front and back of cancelled checks
• Did not review, sign, date, and retain copies of monthly or quarterly trust account reconciliations
• Failed to generate and maintain signed dated reports documenting that he reviewed trust account transactions monthly and quarterly as required by the Rules
• Lied during questioning by ethics investigators (Screw you, said Allan!)

All that remains is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Allan by the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Allan fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.theobxattorneys.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Allan practices his so-called brand of law Grimsley & Ferguson at 100 East Dunn Street in Nags Head, North Carolina.
