Attorney David C. Sherman of Westlake, OH; ethical elf

The state of Ohio presented David Charles Sherman with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the Cleveland Metro Bar Association found David guilty of the following misconduct.

Dismissed a client’s case w/o obtaining the client’s consent
Failed to inform a client that he didn’t maintain legal malpractice insurance

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished David by gifting him with a stayed 9-month suspension of his law license. In truth, the comics on the Court didn’t punish Dave in any meaningful manner.

The comics on the Court granted David mitigation when he claimed that his misconduct was somehow related to two surgeries he underwent at the time. How in the hell is this a valid excuse for committing the misconduct aforementioned?

As we speak (ca. June 2012) Michael practices law with Sherman & Associates at 2396 Wingedfoot in Westlake, Ohio which is a suburb of Cleveland.
