Attorney Thomas J. Simon of Ashtabula, OH; ethical dwarf

The state of Ohio presented Thomas John Simon with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the Cleveland State University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Thomas guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  2. Commingled client funds with personal funds
  3. Misappropriated client funds
  4. Failed to cooperate in disciplinary investigation (Up Yours, said Tommy!)
  5. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  6. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  7. Failed to preserve the identify of client funds
Over the course of several years, Tommy wrote checks to himself, his wife, and his creditors by using his client trust account as though it were a personal bank account and law-office operating account.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed one-year suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians on the Court didn’t punish Tommy in any meaningful way.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Thomas practices law with Thomas J. Simon Co. LPA at 1105 Bridge Street in Ashtabula, Ohio.
