Attorney Kirsten Siejka of Tasmania; ignoramus, slacker

The Law Society of Tasmania provided Kirsten Melissa Elizabeth Siejka with a law license in 2007 after she graduated from the University of Tasmania School of Law.

The Legal Profession Board of Tasmania found Kirsten guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in unsatisfactory professional misconduct
• Wrote to opposing counsel in terms that were inappropriate, threatening and intended to intimidate the Complainant into not proceeding with her application for change in protective order and child custody matters
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to provide competent representation (ignoramus)
• Failed to be honest and courteous in all dealings in the course of her legal practice
• Failed to ensure that the manner and tone of all correspondence was appropriate
• Failed to conduct herself in an adult fashion
  Used intemperate, provocative or discourteous language
• Failed to ensure that the manner and tone of all correspondence was appropriate
• Was unprofessional in her communications with opposing party and counsel
• Knew, or ought to have known, that the statement would be likely to be interpreted as threatening and/or intimidating by the reader
• Made a threatening statement, indirectly, knowing the party had a current PFVO against her client and that there was a history of family violence incidents involving her client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Legal Profession Board punished Kirsten by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), Kirsten practices her so-called brand of law in Tasmania.
