Attorney Frederick H. Brooks of East Orange, NJ; repeater, loser

The state of New Jersey presented Frederick H. Brooks with a law license in 1982.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Frederick guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failure to safeguard client funds
  2. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest and/or misrepresentation
  3. Failed to maintain proper trust account records
  4. Refused to cooperate with ethics investigation (Up Yours said Freddy!)
  5. Improprieties in handling trust account funds
  6. Disbursed checks against uncollected funds
  7. Negotiated checks without proper endorsements
  8. Commingled client funds with his personal funds
  9. Negligently misappropriated (stole) client funds
Freddy was also found guilty of signing a client’s name (endorsing) to a settlement check without the client’s consent or knowledge. If this is done by someone held to a higher standard of conduct than an Attorney Misfit they may well have been criminally prosecuted for forgery.

And this wasn’t Freddy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. Two years earlier he received another complimentary reprimand from the comedians sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court. In this instance, Freddy also refused to cooperate with the ethics investigators.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Frederick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Freddy at 143 Hoffman Blvd. in East Orange, New Jersey.
