Attorney Gerald M. Schwartz of Milwaukee; repeat offender

 
The state of Wisconsin presented Gerald M. Schwartz with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.
 
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Gerald guilty of misconduct on at least two occasions.
 
In his 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree, Gerald was found guilty of the following misconduct. the Court punished Gerald by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license for engaging in the following misconduct
  1. Failed to pursue client matter with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to communicate with clients regarding their legal matter
  3. Failed to provide account of his work
  4. Failed to refund unearned fees (thief)
  5. Failed to take steps to protect clients’ interest after he was fired
  6. Failed to appear at scheduled hearing on behalf of client
  7. Failed to respond to letters from opposing counsel
  8. Failed to notify clients, opposing counsel and the courts that his law license was suspended
  9. Failed to promptly withdraw from client representation as required
  10. Failed to respond to numerous OLR requests (Up Yours said Gerald!)
  11. Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law while license suspended
  12. Made false statements of material fact during OLR investigation (perjury if given under oath)
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Gerald by gifting him with a 90-day suspension of his law license.
 
In regards to his 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree, Gerald was found guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to advise clients of significant developments in their personal injury action
  2. Acted contrary to his client’s explicit direction to seek a settlement of their claim
  3. Failed to timely conclude a settlement (slacker)
  4. Failed to timely deliver clients’ file to successor counsel
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Gerald by gifting him with a 60-day suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. July 2012) Gerald practices law at 740 North Plankinton Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
