Attorney Mark S. Brown of Madison, WI; thief

The state of Wisconsin presented Thomas E. Zablocki with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

Mark admitted that over a six (6) year period of time and he had converted more than $16,000 in fees belonging to his law firm for his personal use. Mark also admitted that he attempted to convert another $3,000 in fees.

Mark also admitted to the following:
  1. Failed to report fee income on his personal income tax returns (tax cheat)
  2. Altered (falsified) the retainer amount on his firm’s copy of a previously-signed retainer agreement
  3. Made multiple misrepresentations (serial liar) to his law firm partners and associates
  4. Made misrepresentations (lied) in correspondence with the Office of Lawyer Regulation
Because Attorney Misfits in Wisconsin are held to much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Mark was never criminally charged for felonious theft of law firm funds nor was he charged with obstruction of justice for lying to OLR investigators.

As a consequence of his misconduct, cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Mark has given the good folks in Madison a break by moving his traveling show to 105 Ironcrest Way in Columbia, South Carolina.
