Attorney Michele Austin of Hackensack, NJ; slacker, loser

The state of New Jersey presented Michele E. Austin with a law license in 1969 after she graduated from Widener University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Michele guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client’s interests
  • Failed to failing to refund any advance payment of fee that has not been earned or incurred (cheater)
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Michele!)
  • Made a false statement of material fact in a disciplinary matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Michele by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), Michele practices her so-called brand of law in Jersey City, New Jersey.
