Attorney Bruce Meagher of Iola, WI; convicted bookie

The state of Wisconsin presented David A. Bordow with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found David guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Engaging in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty and untrustworthiness
Bruce pleaded guilty to one count of violating the federal Wire Wagering Act, by virtue of his ownership interest in an offshore gambling operation that took sports bets from U.S. citizens via wire communications.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished David by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
It must be quite comforting to Wisconsinites to know that Bruce is yet another convict allowed to practice law because of the actions of the comedians sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Bruce practices law in the Iola, Wisconsin area, which is about 65 miles west of Green Bay.
