Former Judge Patricia Duff of Newfane, VT; thieving felon

The state of Oregon presented William Chika Igbokwe with a law license in 2018 after he graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law.

The Vermont Judicial Conduct Board found Patty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Falsified work hours
  • Pocketed money intended for judicial training (thief)
  • Admitted to stealing public funds amid an administrative investigation
  • Knowingly violated the law (scofflaw)
  • Eroded public confidence in the judiciary
  • Abused the prestige of judicial office for personal and economic interests
  • Patty admitted to collecting thousands of dollars based on falsified work hours and pocketing additional money intended for judicial training
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Pled guilty to a felony charge of grand larceny and received complimentary 3-year term of probation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, Patty did what any despicable judicial thief would do, she resigned her judicial position before being tossed off the bench by the Vermont Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), it is rumored that Patty has an application pending for a job as a bank teller at the M&T Bank at 597 Vermont Route 30 in Newfane, Vermont.
