Attorney Michael DeFine of Glendale, AZ; ethical troll

The State of Arizona provided Michael S. DeFine with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Maine School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar Disc found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Refused to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Mikey!)
  • Falsely denied making any misrepresentations to his client
  • Acknowledged lying to his client
  • Attempted to defend his misrepresentations with convoluted explanations
  • Explanations to ethics panel were found to be both incredible and inconsistent with acceptance of responsibility
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Refused to acknowledge wrongful nature of his conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and was assessed $4,000.00 in investigative costs.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law the Law Office of Michael S. DeFine LLC in Glendale, Arizona.
